How It All Began.

I’ve been running 100 miles an hour for nearly twenty years and for the first time in my “adult” life, I was able to step away from the day to day hustle and reflect on the past, prior to diving head first into the future. This past June and after an incredible two years, I left my post as CEO of Nourish Snacks and for the first time really since leaving school, I didn’t have a day job or for that matter, an office that I could call my own. While I absolutely loved spending quality time with my family, for someone who cannot sit still for but a second and likely won’t be still again for perhaps the rest of my life, I will forever be grateful to have had the opportunity to have the time to really think about what it is that I really love to do and how I want to do it going forward.

During this time of reflection, three things became very clear: (1) I’ve had a very diverse set of experiences, having been (at some point) everything from a banker to an investor to an operator to a founder/CEO. This breadth of experience and having had the opportunity to understand perspectives from nearly every seat at the table is something that likely could help others as they proceed on their journeys as Founders and Entrepreneurs. (2) Having worked in finance, technology and food & beverage and having been a part of a number of successes, the successes are much sweeter when you’re really passionate about what you are doing. For me, as a lifelong foodie, the food and beverage space is as exciting as it gets and the last few years only reaffirmed that this is the space I want to be in going forward. I’ve built some incredible relationships with a number of folks and partners in the space and I look forward to working with them in a number of capacities going forward. It doesn’t hurt that there’s also more opportunity to disrupt and create game-changing businesses than ever before! (3) Going forward, I want to work with people I love.  This space is full of incredible, selfless risk-takers that are constantly innovating in wildly creative and inspirational ways – and I hope to do my part to both inspire, create and partner with many of our fellow entrepreneurs in the wild world of food and beverage.

And with that, I’m thrilled to be launching Born Wild Brands, a business that I’m launching with people I love and one that I hope will incubate some amazing brands and products (read: stay tuned!) and help visionary founders and entrepreneurs execute on their dreams. So what exactly are we going to do? It’s quite simple – to inspire, push the boundaries of what’s possible, and work with partners that are fearless, deeply passionate and willing to jump of cliffs and break through walls to make things happen. Oh, and of course, belly laughs will be requisite weekly activities.

Life is too short to not do what you love with people you love. I hope to spend the rest of my life doing just that. I’m never been more optimistic for the future and I’m rearing to go. Let’s do this.
